Welcome to the brand new website of The Army Surplus Warehouse.
The Army Surplus Warehouse is an Irish owned company that has been selling surplus and clearance lines for well over 15 years. We have two stores packed with everything from a needle to an anchor (literally). If you have never been into one of our shops I will try paint the picture for you.
The Army Surplus Warehouse was launched from a small industrial unit in Ballinacurra, Co. Cork by the owner Noel Curtain. The warehouse was jammed with all sorts, primarily army surplus but soon ranges varying from electrical goods, used tools, office furniture, clothing and more. The warehouse out grew its first location and had to move to another industrial unit in Ballinacurra. People who visited could root through piles, stacks, boxes and pallets of mixed stocks, never really sure what you could find. If you asked a customer from the Ballinacura days what drew them to the Army Surplus Warehouse some would say the fair prices but I think most would agree the huge selection could keep you busy for hours.
In 2003 we made the move to our first retail premises in Market Green, Midleton, Co. Cork. This was a big change for the shop. In the new shop customers could browse with more comfort without the need to clamber over piles to find what they were looking for. Our stock was now on shelves, in neat rows with prices displayed. Might seem the norm but it was a big change for the Army Surplus Warehouse team.
The shop in Midleton store continued where the Ballinacura warehouse left off continuing to be popular with military enthusiasts, professional tradesmen and outdoor enthusiasts. With over 5,000 square ft of shop space there was something for everyone.
In 2010 we decided to open another shop in the Killarney Outlet Centre in Co. Kerry. Our Midleton store was and still is popular with tourists holidaying in the area and many make it part of their holiday itinerary every year. We saw the same opportunity in Killarney due to the strong domestic tourist trade and proximity to local attractions like the National Park and great hill walking country.
The new shop in Killarney was also over 5,000 square feet and was well received becoming popular with locals and visitors quickly. In Autumn 2012 we extended the Killarney store and started a new range called the Home Depot. Now the Killarney and Midleton stores both stock new ranges of cookware, kitchenware and decorative lines for the home and garden.
